Black Women Speak was adapted from a class documentary project. It amplifies the discriminatory experiences of being a black woman in America. Society’s perception of black women has been shaped by the media and often times, it has hurt more than helped. When black women speak up about these painful experiences they are often invalidated, villanized or just simply overlooked. This documentary serves as an unfiltered conversation with four young black women about racism in education, the workplace, society, and the media.
